Daniel McGregor-Huyer is a freelance photographer from Hickory Creek, Texas.

In 2020, Daniel started working as a student photojournalist for the Daily Iowan and fell in love with the art of visual storytelling.  He has photographed events such as the 2023 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship game and the 2023 Big Ten Wrestling Championships. Alongside photojournalism, Daniel is a filmmaker whose work was awarded by the Associated College Press and the Iowa Newspaper Association. He was also an editor on two feature-length documentaries, Chasing Greatness: Wrestling Life and Lost in the In-Between: Graduating into 2020. The former premiered on the Big Ten Network in March 2023. In 2023, Daniel graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema. He is also a member of the National Press Photographers Association and the Dallas Photographers Association. Most recently, Daniel traveled to State College, Pennsylvania, and photographed the 2024 USA Wrestling Olympic Team Trials.

Daniel likes to focus his work stories within the community and showcase a style that can leave an impact on the people within and outside the image.
